Christian Web Technologies LLC, or CWTech for short, is my favorite outcome of living by the saying “Say yes, and you’ll figure it out later.” It all began a few years ago when a friend from college had an idea to build mobile apps for church youth groups to stay connected throughout the week. He approached me and asked if I’d be willing to partner with him and build the first application. I had pretty much zero experience with mobile application development at that point, but I said “yes” anyway. I spent countless hours in a local bakery that had decent WiFi, listening to Dirty Guv’nahs and miraculously building a mobile app using Appcelerator’s Titanium SDK . We had a youth group actually use it and I can’t explain the accomplished feeling that comes over you when other *real* people are using an app you built. It’s pretty close to the feeling of seeing “Hello World” for the first time and knowing you made that happen. After that initial app, I was all in. We decided to scale the company to include web design services including hosting and maintenance plans. Since the beginning, we’ve built around 50 websites and we have 10 apps in the App Store and Google Play.
